LOOKING BACK DOWN THE STREET FROM THE HOTEL I STAYED AT
TYPICAL LITTLE SHOPS ALONG THE STREETS OF ANGLESEY
THIS IS TYPICAL OF THE HOMES IN ANGLESEY. THEY ARE BUILT SIDE BY SIDE WITH
COMMON WALLS. NOTE IF YOU WILL THE NUMBER OF CHIMNIES FROM EACH
COMMON WALL. THEY HEAT AND IN MANY CASES COOK WITH COAL FIRES. THERE
NEEDS TO BE A CHIMNEY FOR EACH FIREPLACE.
AS IN MANY EUROPEAN COUNTRIES AND
IN JAPAN, HOME OWNERS FIND IT
NECESSARY TO BUILD WALLS AROUND
THEIR HOMES TO INSURE PRIVACY
NOTE THE LADDERS THE FISHERMEN HAD TO
NAVIGATE GOING TO AND FROM THEIR BOATS.
THE DOCKA ARE AT THE END OF LONG GOUGES
CAUSED BY THE CONSTANT UNDERCUTTING OF
THE LAND.
LOOKS AS IF A BIRD HAS FOUND A HOME ON
THIS CHIMNEY.
NARROW STREETS AND STEEP HILLS ARE THE RULE
RATHER THAN THE EXCEPTION HERE.
